As per the default configurations, you can access the entire Salesforce ecosystem from your computer. However, Admins can change Settings to enhance the overall security of the organization. This is why several admins can restrict unauthorized users to access the database as per convenience. Hence, you must know the fundamentals to Restrict Login Access (Time) and manage the Salesforce organization.
What is “Restrict Login Access by Time”?
If you have gone through our previous blog on Restrict Login Access (IP Address), you can relate to this easily. As per the definition, Admins have the privilege to block any user to enter the virtual platform after a given time period. Moreover, this type of restriction is only possible at the profile level. Thus, you have to manually set up the time range for every individual account in the organization.
For instance, the user who needs to manage the customer database requires access only during business hours. If his account is trying to log in at a suspicious time, the profile will not get desired permissions. Also, the profile should not log into the system on holidays or weekends accordingly.
However, if you stay logged in while the time ends, you will enter into the View mode. Therefore, you can only view the records but can’t modify or delete them from the database. Make sure to save your work prior to the provided time to your particular profile.
